Energy Northwest Leases 300 Acres to Tucci Energy for Solar Farm

On November 30, Energy Northwest announced the company had signed a letter of intent to lease 300 acres of land it received from the U.S. Department of Energy in 2015 to Tucci Energy Services for a solar project that could provide enough electricity to serve more than 11,000 homes. Energy Northwest’s member utilities, which include Benton and Franklin PUDs, will receive first right of refusal for the electricity produced at the new solar farm. Construction is projected to start in the spring of 2022.

Originally, the solar project was slated for development by French-based Neoen, but plans ceased and a deal was reached with Seattle-based Tucci Energy Services for 75-megawatts of photovoltaic solar panels.
