Science, Technology, Engineering and Math High School

In August 2007 officials of Battelle, WSU Tri-Cities, and the Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland School Districts are exploring the creation of a new cooperative math and science high school that would be located on the Research District campus. The project is similar to a high school Battelle has established in Columbus, Ohio.

In April 2008, the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation provided a $250,000 grant to be used to help develop academic offerings for the new school. A core planning team of teachers, scientists, and other community members is developing the academic program.
